“It may be true that the law cannot make a

man love me, but it can stop him from lynching me, and I think that’s pretty important.”

— Martin Luther King, Jr. (The Wall Street Journal, 13 November 1962)

Sociological Applications to the Law

I am available to be retained to author legal expert opinion, sworn deposition, and courtroom testimony on matters related to discrimination, racism, hate-crimes, and other race-related incidents.  I have written expert opinion and testified in court on an array of racial discrimination cases. The foundation for my work as an expert-witness is based on my experience and research as a professional sociologist and university professor.

The role of an expert-witness has been defined as a person who has some special training or experience, and ideally can help the judge, lawyers, and jury arrive at the truth in the judicial process.  In the courts, any theory of human behavior must be presented in a form that makes clear and logical sense or it will be eliminated by the adversarial system.  Sociological expert opinions can aid the judicial system in the determination of more rational and just verdicts.
