Dr. Matthew W. Hughey is Professor of Sociology at the University of Connecticut, where he researches the social dimensions of “race” in relation to social inequality, knowledge, media, science, and religion. He is the author of several scholarly books, including White Bound (Stanford), The Obamas and a (Post)Racial America? (Oxford), 12 Angry Men (The New Press), Racialized Media (NYU) and The White Savior Film (Temple).
